BONTAC has independently developed a directed evolution platform, creating enzymes that do not exist in nature from scratch. With a current enzyme library of over 2000 varieties, the company utilizes directed evolution for genetic mutation and recombination. Through high-throughput AI screening, they repeatedly select superior enzyme varieties, forming a rich proprietary enzyme library. Compared to non-biological catalysts, these enzymes have extremely high catalytic efficiency, which is 100 to 1000 times more than that of conventional catalysts.

Dr. Cheung, the chief scientist and founder of BONTAC, was once engaged in research work at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology in Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cornell University and City University of Hong Kong. She has been dedicated to the application of biological enzyme catalysis technology into the green bio-manufacturing industrialization of coenzymes, medical intermediates and natural products for over 20 years. Notably, Dr. Cheung has applied approximately 90 invention patents at home and abroad, authorized over 60 patents and conducted key R&D plan projects in Guangdong province as well as key science and technology projects in Shenzhen city.
In the past two years, under her leadership, BONTAC has obtained series of honors such as KPMG China's top 50 Biotech Innovation Enterprises in 2023,2023 Deloitte China Life Sciences & Healthcare Rising Star and the enterprise with the most growth potential in future great health. In addition, NMN, phosphatidylserine, NADH, ginsenoside Rh2 and stevioside RD in BONTAC are listed as famous high-tech products in Guangdong province. In the development of group standards for multiple products such as NMN and NADH, Dr. Cheung plays a leading role as well.
