Full-chain Independent R&D

BONTAC has independently developed a directed evolution platform, creating enzymes that do not exist in nature from scratch. With a current enzyme library of over 2000 varieties, the company utilizes directed evolution for genetic mutation and recombination. Through high-throughput AI screening, they repeatedly select superior enzyme varieties, forming a rich proprietary enzyme library. Compared to non-biological catalysts, these enzymes have extremely high catalytic efficiency, which is 100 to 1000 times more than that of conventional catalysts.

Synthetic route design

The classical retrosynthetic analysis in chemical synthesis is introduced into biosynthesis.

Directed evolutionary screening of enzymes

The target enzyme is subjected to the directed evolution with irrational,semi-rational or rational design, followed by the screening of high-through put mutation library to construct the standard target enzyme library.

Construction of enzyme strains

The selection of expression vectors and the construction of target strains are completed by the combined screening of components such as vector resistance,promoter,tag and expression host.

Expression of enzymes

The enzyme expression process is optimized by medium formulation, inducer and process control.

Optimization of catalytic process

Catalytic process parameters are optimized for better catalytic efficiency, higher yield and better product quality.

    Purification technology with low cost and high yield. The process of medium pressure column purification was abandoned, and the problem of hard decolorization of NAD and NMN products caused by enzyme catalysis was solved.

Dr. Chung

Dr. Cheung, the chief scientist and founder of BONTAC, was once engaged in research work at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology in Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cornell University and City University of Hong Kong. She has been dedicated to the application of biological enzyme catalysis technology into the green bio-manufacturing industrialization of coenzymes, medical intermediates and natural products for over 20 years. Notably, Dr. Cheung has applied approximately 90 invention patents at home and abroad, authorized over 60 patents and conducted key R&D plan projects in Guangdong province as well as key science and technology projects in Shenzhen city.

In the past two years, under her leadership, BONTAC has obtained series of honors such as KPMG China's top 50 Biotech Innovation Enterprises in 2023,2023 Deloitte China Life Sciences & Healthcare Rising Star and the enterprise with the most growth potential in future great health. In addition, NMN, phosphatidylserine, NADH, ginsenoside Rh2 and stevioside RD in BONTAC are listed as famous high-tech products in Guangdong province. In the development of group standards for multiple products such as NMN and NADH, Dr. Cheung plays a leading role as well.

The Bangtai Biological Coenzyme Production Base covers an area of 16000 square meters and is located in Zhongshan. Since its mass production in 2014, it has always adhered to the technology of whole enzyme catalysis and continuously iterated. The fourth generation of whole enzyme catalysis technology has been fully put into production and online, with an annual production of 100 tons of coenzyme. The Fuyang Natural Products Super Factory is under construction.
